To support Trust developments we sometimes run fundraising appeals. These are to raise money for bigger projects where SWFT Charity really can take the environment from functional to fabulous.
SWFT Charity has run a number of very successful fundraising appeals, including the Stratford Hospital Cancer & Eye Appeal. This £1million appeal supported the development of a new hospital in the heart of Stratford upon Avon. Throughout the appeal individuals, businesses and community groups across South Warwickshire showed an overwhelming amount of support. From hosting fundraising events, making generous donations or becoming dedicated volunteers. It is thanks to all this help that in February 2017 the Stratford Hospital Cancer and Eye Appeal was able to reach its impressive target. The appeal enabled the Trust to invest in special enhancements and equipment, including being able to purchase upgraded chemotherapy chairs and other state of the art equipment.

In April 2017 we launched the Birth and Babies appeal. This was to raise funds for a new midwife led birthing centre at Warwick Hospital. The facility was opened in July 2018 and thanks to overwhelming fundraising support the Trust was able to provide women and their families a comfortable, homely environment to deliver their babies. The additional money was invested into enhanced equipment and upgraded furnishings, including a birthing pool in each room, a family snug room and a private garden.

Projects SWFT Charity is supporting at the moment...

We are currently hoping to develop our Children’s waiting area at Warwick Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department. The unit treats families from all over South Warwickshire and in 2018 an average of 1,300 children visited each month.

At what can often be a daunting and scary time for children and their parents, we want to make our children’s waiting area as relaxed, pleasant and comfortable as possible.

To help enhance the environment and make it welcoming for children and young people, we are looking for support from the local community to fund new furniture and equipment including toys, books and sensory tools, as well as bright, comfy furnishings.

Supporting in various ways, from donating items or helping to raise funds really does make a huge difference. If you would like to get involved with the project please do get in contact.
